Committees and Working Parties

Committee’s form an important part of the day to day running of the Shire and community. 8 new Advisory Committees have been formed to replace the former Committees.  These being

  1. Youth Council
  2. Growing Business Industry & Tourism Advisory Committee
  3. Strengthening Community Access, Inclusion & Well-being Advisory Committee
  4. Ageing Well, Aged Care and Facilities Advisory Committee
  5. Balranald Beautification Advisory Committee
  6. Sport & Recreation Advisory Commitee
  7. Euston Progressive Advisory Committee

Regular meetings are held to discuss issues affecting the community.

Hostel Committee

Council resolved on 17 December 2021 to establishe a S355 Committee to provide forward planning direction, management oversight and recommendations subject to the direction of the Council of the Shire of Balranald in the operation of Bidgee Haven Retirement Hostel for the Aged.

Council is calling for 4 positions on the newly established s355 Committee.

Applications must be accompanied by details of professional experience, qualifications or relationship to a resident of family members in the hostel.

Current and Ex-Employees who have resigned in the past 12 months of Council are not eligible to apply.

Applications are to be addressed to the General Manager, Balranald Shire Council and may be emailed to  council@balranald.nsw.gov.au or posted ensuring Councils receives prior to the closing date to PO  Box 120 Balranald 2715.

Applications close 5pm on Friday 4th Febraury 2022.

LEMC (Local Emergency Management Committee)

This Panel generally meets quarterly on the second Thursday of this month at 11am.
