Council’s Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the actioning of Council’s decisions, supporting Council, organisational leadership, structure and performance as well as environmental, social and economic sustainability.
Responsible to the CEO are the Leadership Team who lead our Corporate, Economic, Community and Infrastructure and Development Divisions.
The CEO and Leadership Team support the Council in determining strategic direction for our Shire, and are responsible for ensuring that the organisation is meeting its obligations.
Primary Functions: Shire Manager, Co-ordinate civic activities (including meeting processes), legislative compliance, policy development and public relations.

Primary Functions: Provide ongoing high-level, strategic direction, management and coordination of the Governance and Community Services Directorate to ensure delivery of the Directorate’s key objectives and the provision of high-quality services to the Balranald Community. This position is Coucnil’s nominated Public Officer in accordance with Section 343 of the Local Government Act 1993.

Primary Functions: To lead the organisation in the delivery of financial management services through the development and implementation of strategies to deliver Council’s sustainability objectives. A key part of the role is to fulfil statutory responsibilities under the NSW Local Government Act and Regulation, including financial reporting and compliance.
The CFO role is also instrumental in assisting the elected Council in delivering the operational functions that support the Community Strategic Plan, by providing professional guidance in developing budgets and strategies aligned with Councils strategic direction.
Edna is the responsibhle Accounting Officer as defined in the NSW Local Government (General) Regulation 2021 including financial Statements, annual Local Government Grants Commission returns and operating statements.
