Landholders and community members are invited to attend Western Local Land Services’ Parrots, Plants, Pests and Pasture expo, where they will gain a greater understanding of local threatened species, including the Regent Parrot, while getting the latest production and project updates.
Local staff members with a range of expertise will be on hand to present or simply have a chat with attendees throughout the afternoon. Attendees can also get up close and personal with a range of native animals in an interactive wildlife experience provided by EnviroEDU.
Overview of the day
1:30 pm: Landholders/community members arrive.
1:45 pm: Identifying the Regent Parrot, habitat requirements, opportunities to assist the local population.
2: 30 pm: Meet the Western LLS team, your local contacts for all things parrots, plants, pests, pasture and much more.
3 pm: Pest animal update including an overview of the
‘White Spaces’ project.
3:30 pm: Ag Chat, including a Queensland fruit fly update.
4 pm: Wrap up of the day, safe trip home.
2:30-4 pm: Roaming interactive wildlife experience.
